The BCMA is a provincial association who is recognized as the official representative
of all physicians practicing in British Columbia. As such, information provided by them
to our members will keep us informed of current events such as contract negotiation etc.
The role of the BCMA is to advance the practice and science of medicine and the health
of British Columbians by working for the improvement of medical education, health care
legislation and hospital and other health services.

Health Insurance B.C.

This government agency is a component of the Ministry of Health who's mandate is to
manage the services of the Medical Services Plan in partnership with medical and health
care practitioners, to provide equitable access to medical and health care services, and
to ensure all British Columbians receive medical coverage, among other things.

Health Match B.C.

Health Match BC is the recruitment section of the Health Employers Association of B.C.
This organization (HEABC) represents the full spectrum of health care employers,
provides advice on human resources, research, labour relations, compensation and
bargaining issues and provides a consistent and united employer approach to health
care human resource management, labour relations and collective bargaining.

Canadian Medical Association

This national association's mission is to provide leadership for physicians and to promote
the highest standard of health and health care for Canadians.

The purpose of this Canadian organization is to advance the profession of Medical Group
Practice management and the industry of Health Care delivery through various forms of
medical group practice and to co-operate with the Allied Health organizations in improving
health care delivery to the general public.

Medical Group Management Association.

This American based group provides pertinent information to its members regarding
health care issues. It also provides the framework for the certification of its members as
health care administrators.

Ontario Medical Group Management Association.

This provincial association mirrors our own association in terms of mandate and benefits
to members.
